Positive Carpos Soquel Santa Cruz Review:
I have gone here twice, and both times I really enjoyed the food and service.
The first time I went and I had the salad bar. It was very fresh and they provide great bread to go with it. The second time I took my family to try them out. I had the red snapper special. The vegetables were fresh, steamed to perfection. Unfortunately, the rice was a little mushy. My husband had the fish and chips and the fish melted in my mouth. My son had the chicken strips and French fries. My son isn't very picky, but the chicken was lacking even to him. They were small pieces comparable in size to the medium length French fries in the over flowing basket and the portion of chicken could fit in my hand. Mindful the guy at the counter said there were no kids menu items so I expected more for my buck with that one. All in all we got there before the rush and the service was stellar. I had to go back for horseradish (my husbands request) and the guys behind the counter were quick and not shy with the portion. We finished off the evening with 3 to go orders of fresh made pie. Two peach slices for the boys and a cherry for me. The peach was a hit, and I like my cherry tart, so cherry was a hit with me. I would go back, wish the price was lower overall, but not high enough to discourage us next time.
Take away for me...
PROS: Great fresh breads, pies, and salad bar. Service was stunning from beginning to end.
CONS: Beware the chicken strip meal, small portions. Prices could come down.

Negative Carpos Soquel Santa Cruz Review:
After about 4 tries over the last two years...I'm just not a fan of Carpos, they don't seem to do anything special and prices are not all that reasonable.
I'd recommend the kabobs if you are feeling like eating lite - in fact - everything is on the lite side at Carpos, which isn't bad, but the prices don't match up for the quality.
I'm not a fan of the mural inside.

Average Carpos Soquel Santa Cruz Review:
My son and I use it as our old stand by if we don't want to try something new or we are not close by any other good places in the SC area.
The food is consistent, not always great but it depends what you order. I like the burgers, the fisherman's platter it good too. It's nice you can get steamed veggies and a fresh pasta salad instead of fries and that might be the main selling point for me.
The service isn't special you order at the counter and pick up your food there too but I'm not complaining.
Both locations are close to the highway so if you need to eat and hit the road it's a good little stop.
