Positive Casablanca Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:
Very good choice while you drive thru Santa Cruz and in need of a break at a relaxing place. The view is nice and the food is excellent from the appetizers to deserts. One exception - stay away from the pasta dishes as the restaurant does not specialize in this area . Also the parking around is way too expensive.

Negative Casablanca Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:
We found Casablanca entirely by accident. The little woman and I rolled down to Santa Cruz to check out the boardwalk and some of the surrounding area. We left our hotel to venture out for a bite and found this charming restaurant still open late with an ocean view.
They have a really good wine list and the prices aren't too bad. The service was immediate and friendly, the waiter telling us they had just recovered from a huge rush. I ordered an inexpensive Sonoma cab that was tasty. She had a bowl of clam chowder that she described as the best she had ever had and she was born in Nova Scotia. That is saying something.
So I am thinking this place is going to be a five star review when I received my entree. It was a roasted pork loin with a peach gastrique. The dish was on special and it sounded marvelous in theory but I was very disappointed with the end result. The meat was overcooked and very tough. While the peach was a nice choice for the pork it could not help an nearly inedible pork, not to mention how it clashed with the faint garlic flavor of the mashed potatoes.
Yes, I should have sent it back, but I just choked down half of it at a price of 24.95.

Average Casablanca Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:
We tried this restaurant one evening when we were looking for a nice dinner in Santa Cruz. After trolling through various online reviews, we figured we'd give this one a shot; it looked like a reasonable place with a relatively standard menu.
The service was great; the waiters came over quite often to make sure that we had everything we required and took really good care of us for the whole evening.
The food was solid, I had fried brie, grilled salmon, and berries with a creme fraische sauce. I was definitely content with all of my selections although the vin blanc sauce on the salmon might have been a little bit creamy for my taste.
The only disappointment was the wine. The restaurant is supposed to have this fabulous wine list, but we almost never buy bottles, so I'm more concerned with wines by the glass. Their selection of whites by the glass was pitiful and when I asked for a sweet white, I ended up with a dry white.
