The food is okay- but the view on the patio is breathtaking. Definately eat out on the patio if you can; it is a truly special experience.
I have also been to the Sunday brunch many times, and I have found it to be decent.
My husband, who live in Santa Cruz, like to come here to get a way, but not travel too far. It's a nice escape.
I am editing this to say we just went again... for a mothers day brunch- and the food was awesome!!! Save yourself for the crablegs and ahi!! IT is pretty dang pricey for brunch, especially when you only get one champagne drink.soooooo. 50 bucks for brunch??? a little pricey, so keep that in mind. It is a great food spread, ONE glass of champagne, and a bauitful view. You decide.

Negative Chaminade Santa Cruz Review:
The Sunday Brunch used to be a favorite for my husband and I. We recommended going with a group and could not have been more disappointed. While the food was good (good/average, nothing super spectacular), the singe "sample" size of champagne was a joke for the $35 dollar price. On top of that the wait staff gave the impression they were doing us a favor by taking old plates, very occasionally, and bringing us additional champagne; which as mentioned we paid for. On top of that we got an 18% gratuity added for a group of 8! The service was mediocre at best, they didn't bring our food, barley took our plates, without being prompted--so to pay an 18% gratuity was adding insult to injury.
As I started out with, we used to love the Chaminade brunch. No more! Overpriced and the wait staff was rude. Very disappointed, after expecting it to be great as it was a year ago.

This is for the brunch only.
Food was pretty good, with a wide selection for both breakfast- and lunch-oriented customers. We were just kind of surprised at the end to see that it was 40 bucks a head (including tax and gratuity) as this seems a little high for what you get.
