Positive Clouds Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:

we've been here several times and always had a good experience, but for lunch or dinner only, never for the night scene. I had a great ahi sandwich at lunch, I actually wish I had one right now! We've been here for a big family dinner over the holidays and had great food and service, plus they hire pretty good looking wait staff which is always a plus. we want to go again just to be able to say "dinner for two for thirty-six dollars, please" with a big dumb grin, just like we saw on the tellervision.

Had a wonderful meal at excellent value: 3 course meal for $25. Nice choices for appetizer ( I had the mixed greens with goat cheese) and a fantastic salmon in pastry entree. Veggies done just right! Fabulous berry cobbler though my husband's chocolate mouse wasn't very exciting. The only negative was the bread - very poor quality. Santa Cruz has great bakeries - get a new supplier!!!

Negative Clouds Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:

The service sucks to be honest. It's slow and they don't really care.

The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. The smoked Ahi tastes like fish jerkey, and the beef gyro is plain. We also got the asian sampler, and it was just ordinary - but expensive.

Granted we didn't go for drinks, but the food and service weren't great at all. After spending over 70 dollars on food, we felt unsatisfied and went to the nearest grocery store for a hunk a bread to munch on.

Maybe it's better at dinner? Who knows

Average Clouds Restaurant Santa Cruz Review:

I am revisiting this place after a 3 month respite from Clouds Downtown and nothing has changed about this place.

Clouds Downtown tries to emulate everything, with satisfactory results.
As many Yelpers have written, the only thing that is going for this place is...

!!!APPLE CARAMEL MARTINIS!! ...Martini Glass..Caramel on the outside, apple martini deliciousness on the inside. THiS IS A MUST WHEN COMING HERE!

The ACMs are very delicious and it is pretty much the only thing I get here. Aside from that particular martini drink everything is mediocre. The dance floor is often half empty, and even more so on a weekdays. I have never tried the food here, but through countless happy hour trips, and late night adventures through downtown Santa Cruz, I have never had the urge to muster my appetite to pay for their overpriced food.  However, the pictures do look really good, so I will not judge them on that.

On weekends, this place tends to get crowded. The bartenders are always unaware of your presence and it takes a long time to get a drink. I wouldn't say that Clouds should be your first choice on the Bar crawl, but it is a pit stop. I wouldn't recommend staying for long, as they are other more chill and happening places in downtown.

Overall, this place is OK
