Green Valley Grill - Reviews:

Positive Green Valley Grill Review:

Very good food, odd location. I frequently dine alone while traveling on business and so am sensitive to finding a place where single diners are welcome. This place is comfortable and I'd go out of my way to return again.  Service was a little slow the night I visited, but the house wine was an excellent selection and so had an excuse to order a second glass.  Food choices are good and all nearby diners I observed seemed pleased with their selections too.  I ordered the evening special... a prime rib.  Veggies were good, and so was the meat.

Negative Green Valley Grill Review:

I have to disagree with all of these positive reviews. Now, first off, the food. As a WATSONVILLE local, I've eaten there about 4 times and have had a variety of dishes. The salads are very good, but pricey. The pasta (and I love pasta) was only so-so. The wood grilled meats (sampled from my boyfriend's plate) were very good. I'd say your best bet is to order wood grilled meat if you're into that sort of thing and if not get a salad. The cobb salad was great. So, decent food at ok prices. For what you get, the prices aren't too bad, but I think for the quality I'd go somewhere else. The live music here is great! Kudos to whoever booked the awesome jazz band. However, the real problem I have with this restaurant is the service. The hostess' are horrible. They see you standing there and just keep talking amongst themselves. This has happened to me every time I've dined here. You literally have to walk right up to them to get their attention and when you do, they act like you, the customer, are inconveniencing them. Furthermore, they are very rude. No smiles, greetings, nothing. Then there are the servers. In my experience, the male servers tend to be more polite, but both male and female servers take forever if anything is needed. In three out of four times I've eaten here, the restaurant was more than half empty. If this restaurant is going to live up to the (vastly undeserved) title of Best Restaurant in Watsonville, they really need to up their customer service.
All in all the verdict is if you want decent food at an ok price, this restaurant is for you. But if you expect exceptionally food and service, go somewhere else. There are much cheaper and better quality (albeit more casual) restaurants in here in Watsonville.

Average Green Valley Grill Review:

The food was teriffic !!! Steak was cooked to perfection and vegtables just right. The service was something else. We never got a refil on our drinks and they didn't bring my Grandson's drink until the end of the meal. We had to ask 2 times for to go boxes and the he just brought one after asking for two.  My son-inh-law is a tattoo arist and has numerous visable tattoos, he is the best son-in-law and nicest person you could ever meet but I felt almost disciminated against especially after seeing our waiter hover over the table next to us. Don't think I will be going back anytime soon. $100.00 bucks on a meal to be treated that way despite having good food isn't worth it.
