(from ristoranteital.com) - Serving traditional and innovative Italian dishes and pasta specialties since 1980, Ristorante Italiano has been voted the BEST Italian Restaurant in Santa Cruz County for the last six years.
Enjoy the lively dining room featuring a traditional Italian decor or the beautiful outdoor patio with its towering Sycamore tree and three-story mural. Recently completed, the mural transforms the patio into a bit of old Italy with shutters, broken plaster and hanging laundry.
Full cocktail service is available, as well as an extensive selection of Italian and California wines. Menu highlights include traditional chicken and veal specialties, fresh seafood, pasta creations, homemade soups, fresh and innovative salads, and many vegetarian dishes.
Positive Restaurante Italiano Santa Cruz Review:
This is one of my most favorite places to eat italian. My husband and I go there as often as possible. It's an old style feel but the staff has always been nice and helpful. They're seafood is so amazing. My husband always gets the chiapino and I get the alfredo with scallops and they are sooooo Divine. They just melt in your mouth, its heaven really. Anyone who says this place is dirty is just too picky, that's my humble opinion. Been there about 6 times and every time I've been very pleased with my food and service. I highly recommend this place.

Negative Restaurante Italiano Santa Cruz Review:
Prices seem to have gone up since the last time I've been there which means that it is increasingly unattractive to visit Ristorante Italiano. My usual choice: the spaghetti carbonara is over 20 dollars and though the portion is essentially 3 to 4 times what I would eat, the quality of the food is not worth 20 dollars.

Average Restaurante Italiano Santa Cruz Review:
The food is pretty good, but my favorite part is the atmosphere. It is relaxed and has a really nice patio outside where you can sit. I have actually only sat out there for half of a meal. Santa Cruz can get a little chilly for me since i am not used to the southern california sun.
The pesto is really parmesan-y and delish. I had some kind of chicken with artichoke and white wine sauce that was really decent, just nothing out of this world. However, my mom ordered cioppino and it was amazing. It was served with huge crab legs and tons of other seafood.
If you go, you have to try the baked potato dessert :)
